,I went to Matthew Murray. I left in 1986. I'd have been there when you were Ian R P. It closed when it merged with Merlyn Ree's, to be South Leeds High Sch. Now near South Leeds Stadium. You mentioned New Bewerley Sch. I'm a volunteer at this sch. My Son went to Arthur Greenwood. My daughter did too. It merged with Hillside Primary. Which is being converted into flats, offices + a nursery.,     Post

,When (Arthur) Greenwood got demolished 2yr ago, + they were digging deeper for New Bewerleys foundations to be placed, they found some 'victorian type cellers'. Anyone know what was there before Greenwood was built? New Bewerley Sch has won 2 awards in channel4's Grand Designs. You have to view it from the air to see why. You wont find it on Google Earth, cos its spelt wrong.+ is down as a childrens centre not a sch. Its photo is on Leodis though., Preview

Does anyone remember Middlethorne school off Shadwell lane? Long gone now, and the site under housing, however, the grass playing field is still there and in use.

Yeah used to go to Middlethorne but only for a short while. Had some fun exploring the old building after it was closed. I remember there being a massive oil tanker there (static) for part of the heating system.

,The site below takes you to the old Hillside Primary which merged with Greenwood Primary to become New Bewerley Community School at the old Greenwood site. The victorian building is now being developed by Tiger11. I'd have thought it would'v made a good library. I've never known the clock in the centre to ever be wrong or stopped. Even while its been boarded up. http://www.tiger11.org.uk/,     Post
