I can only find mention of this place being a rugby ground on Meanwood Road going back in time.http://www.leodis.net/display.aspx?reso ... LAY=FULLNo mention of international matches though. How many rugby grounds would there be along that road? There can't have been too many?
My flickr pictures are herehttp://www.flickr.com/photos/phill_dvsn/Because lunacy was the influence for an album. It goes without saying that an album about lunacy will breed a lunatics obsessions with an album - The Dark side of the moon!

I've seen that photo - I am not convinced that it is the same ground. It certainly isn't the same team - West Riding F.C (but a rugby club) were defunct by the turn of the century.

My initial thought was Bus Vale, but the rugby ground didn't exist until after 1916. It was established on the site of an old quarry that closed in that year. Bus Vale RL club transferred there in 1920. Which begs the question, what ground were they using before that? Perhaps that's the one we need.Interesting factoid: My Dad played for Bus Vale in his teens. But not that far back! Leodis reference:http://www.leodis.net/display.aspx?reso ... 109_174080

It wasn't up as far as Bus Vale's amateur ground, more down near Buslingthorpe Lane. It's on one of the OS maps and IIRC it was typically a cricket ground in the summer with a rugby section in the winter.
