Seem to remember another set - perhaps from a different vendor - of prints of pencil drawings depicting yards, alleys, and other more "close up" scenes than the set of four colour prints. Could these be the same ones? I will have to dig in the pre-Cambrian layers of my detritus and see if I can find them again.

On a slight tangent, saw this today on Twitter. Not one I've seen of the Abbey before. Looks like it was done on a computer to me, but I had a look into it and the artist is certainly real. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/William_He ... Use its search button for a much wider choice - for example there are over 80 Ginner works to view.

Think those are the ones, used to stand at the bottom of Albion Place or Commercial Street where they meet Briggate I think and had an easel that he used to display them on.

I like that athenaeum site jd - there's a pic of Newlay Wood by Atkinson Grimshaw that I found particularly interesting, partly because I live round the corner and walk my dog through there most weekends, but also because it's so unlike all the other Grimshaws I've ever seen - the colours are almost garish! Might get a print...
