Indeed, she has a hankering for publicity/photoshoot opportunities. All at the expense of looking after her constituents. For my part,I'm constantly amused by the changing goalposts that proponents of folleybus display. It seems every time they hit the buffers, they just "adjust" their support statements accordingly. The mounting opposition to NGT is reflected in the increasingly exaggerated claims by Cllr.Lewis and other fans of what this marvellous scheme will mean to Leeds folk.It seems we are on a sure fire winner all ways round by allowing the construction of this "cutting edge" technological superstar. What a revelation.

Greg Mulholland MP for North West Leeds who originally supported the scheme has suddenly decided it is in his best interest to sit on the fence and keep his mouth shut fearing he will loose the vote and his seat.

seems, from the article in the YEP, that they are trying to tweak the plans to make this monstrosity more palatable to the locals. Trouble is enough money has been wasted on it already, with no chance of getting this back.

Here is the article:http://www.yorkshireeveningpost.co.uk/n ... -1-6402467 Quote: The documents set out more clearly than ever before how some journeys on the New Generation Transport (NGT) system would be nearly 40 per cent faster than those made by existing bus services. They also reveal that the network would include a significantly greater amount of bus and cycle lane provision than previously thought.Another section in the documents outlines how a £20m funding gap that has been hanging over the scheme would be filled by borrowing, to be paid back by operating revenues.Other ideas in the updated paperwork include:* The creation of a 3,500 sq m public park in Headingley;* Environmental improvements to Hyde Park Corner and Monument Moor;* Increased levels of planting to replace trees chopped down to make way for the system. So that's all right then ...

Funny though that journey times which Metro themselves said would be just a couple of minutes faster than the existing service not six months ago are now suddenly set to be 40% faster? How on earth has that been managed?

Are they comparing a present two-buses and a change journey with a single through follybus journey and hoping no-one notices?

I've never heard such laughable rubbish since Comical Ali had us in fits of laughter during the Iraq war. Have they got him working for the Council now? http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=yfAeMtcURg0

Don't forget to vote in the YEP online poll:http://www.yorkshireeveningpost.co.uk/n ... op-stories(It's about the third piece down on the right of the page)Currently 72% of respondents think a follybus would be a BAD thing for Leeds.
