The Albion has been in use for a couple of months in its new guise as offices, but there is no progress on the promised return of the removed signage, or of the repair of the tilework.

The Compton View sign used to be in excellent condition round about 2002. It's quickly faded and deteriorated fast. It was very colourful and clear. There was a painted big bottle you can just make out. It was a beer advert if I recall correctly. I wasn't photographing at the time though.

This photo (which I took today, January 29 2014) shows direction information on a pillar on the ground floor of the Leeds Central Reference Library. I have walked past that pillar very many times but had never noticed the information before until very recently, but I did not have my camera with me then. I assume the information was there when at least part of the building was used by the police, which must be many years back now. I have done a search of SL and the information does not seem to have been posted before. There are however mentions and photos in SL of an old C. I. D. sign that is on a higher floor. As it may not show well enough the wording is:- 1st FLOOR. C. I.D. ALIENS REGISTRATION. FIREARMS REGISTRATION. LOST AND FOUND PROPERTY. POLICEWOMEN.
