There is a report on page 17 of the YEP today (Nov 27 2013) about an exhibition of images of the Leeds-born world champion cyclist Beryl Burton that are set to go on display at an Harrogate art gallery (the date was however not given). This is the link to the online YEP report:- http://www.yorkshireeveningpost.co.uk/n ... -1-6279221

Thanks for those links RichT.I did not know of the Beryl Burton Memorial Garden in Morley. Mind you, I may never have been to Morley! I will have passed by it but never in it (at least its central area)! but also a bit at that.Sadly I suspect that Beryl and her achievements may not be known, or are already being forgotten, by many now.

Think this might be someone flogging their book / play rather than about Beryl herself, buthttp://www.bbc.co.uk/programmes/b01nxzcd

This is a link to the section that is about Beryl Burton, which includes a nice chat with her husband Charlie. The section is about 13 minutes long (you may need to click on an arrow to start it):- http://www.bbc.co.uk/programmes/p011pb47

Plus of course Morely was a town in its own right and had nothing to do with Leeds Council at the height of her achievements.
