Cracking picture Pete? Do you have a good old collection stashed away? If so why don't you host them on the flickr site? I don't think the secret Leeds team will mind the plug. But it's a good way of showing off your collection & you can get plenty of interaction. There's a couple of bus drivers on there who reckon there not bus fans-but there collection is vast from years ago! I'll help you guys set up a Leeds city transport group if you like!

Hi Pete. I know where the bus crash pic came from. Ok mate if you follow this link here http://www.flickr.com/ You should get the flickr homepage. click 'sign up' It's relatively straight forward, choose a user name, Fill in D.O.B & e-mail add that sort of question. It's easy enough to do & it's totally free. The downside of a free subscription is a limited amount of picture uploads a month & you can only display 200 pics at any one time. I think loinerpete would be a good user name. It'd be easy to find you on there & i'll get some of the bus drivers to get a group up! Thanx to munki & the team also for the links added on there site. (I should get payed commision from flickr i think)

If anybody is interested then i've started a Leeds city transport group on flickr here http://flickr.com/groups/leedscitytransport/ There's a few people on flickr will be adding a good collection to it shortly if anybody wants to join from here. It's easy to do & you can make it as interactive & interesting as you like. If anybody else has a group in mind that might be of interest to secret Leeds people then i don't mind creating it for them, Just let me know.

Loinerpete wrote: I dont know how to go about that The picture you posted above of the crash between the bus & crane. The crane it says was used building a subway on the corner of Briggate/Boar lane in 1964. Unless i'm mistaken then the dark building on the corner is now Mcdonalds & the crane is roughly where the Whip is. Correct me if i'm wrong but i can't remember a subway there. There was some undergroung toilets a bit further up Briggate. Does anybody know anything about the subway?

Yes there was definitely a small subway from one side of Briggate to the other when I was a kid. It was near the junction with Boar Lane and went from near the Arcade on S.side of Woolworths to near the Stylo shop / now Macdonalds.
