I think all this non cutting of grass is just an excuse to save money. It's happening down here in the south also. It is rather beyond me though why the council choose to let the grass grow to such heights alongside pavements and roads especially on a housing estate. It looks scruffy and obscures the vision of drivers.

Those magnificent men in their trimming machines have been out in the wilds of Swarcliffe this week...Despite the bottom end of sloping field surrounding the playground being notoriously and obviously boggy after rain (and we've had a fair bit of that this week), they've abandoned their efforts after managing to churn up massive sections of the grass.Whatever happened to taking pride in your work? Or better still, taking 5 minutes to carry out an appraisal beforehand instead of charging in and making this sort of mess that will now be with us until the spring?

If they make a mess of an area, use fixmystreet.com to let the council know - easier for them to work out where the complaint needs to go to than have to guess yourself.

That's a complete disgrace Ravey, you want to make a complaint about that. They want to cut your grass while it's a quagmire, yet they still haven't cut my landmine no go area all year. I'll get a photo of how high it is shortly too. What are they getting paid for exactly?

What are they getting paid for exactly?     I've reported it to my local councilor, who is normally quite hot on this sort of thing. I'll post an update of the outcome...The problem now is that water gathers here with it being at the bottom of the hill and it's likely to stay sodden until spring.
