Hi
We've recently put together a research guide outlining the full set of Alf Mattison materials held at Leeds Central Library; these include manuscript notebooks, newscuttings, journals and lecture notes. It's a wonderful collection and deserves to be much better known and used (Mattison was keen for much of his material to be placed in the public library after his death so that it could be accessed by the people). You can see the research guide here: https://secretlibraryleeds.files.wordpr ... ersion.pdf
There's also a short landing page, with more information about Mattison here: https://secretlibraryleeds.net/special- ... collection. and a blog article exploring a bit more about the Collection here: https://secretlibraryleeds.net/2016/02/ ... den-figure. At some stage we hope to produce a collections guide covering all the Mattison material across the city's libraries, including the Brotherton and the Thoresby Society library at The Leeds Library.
Any queries about this Collection, just get in touch (and please spread the word!)
Thanks
Alf Mattison

Re: Alf Mattison
I had seen "The Romance of Old Leeds" but the name was not recognisable to me.Looking at details of the collection I wonder if there is anything on the skulls in there

Steve JonesI don't know everything, I just like to give that impression!
