This bricked up archway caught my eye on October 20 2015. It is on Whitehall Road under where the railways cross over that road near Globe Road. On looking up the Old Maps UK website I found that the bricked up arch might be where a subway used to run to and from Holbeck Low Level Station, so I have reproduced (hopefully!) that area in a 1953 map. The subway is marked as disused in a 1963/69 map. If it is the subway I wonder if it is still intact but sealed off, or perhaps used as a storage area.
As a child in the 1950s I recall passing through Holbeck High and Low Level Stations.

A long narrow passage was behind the blocked up wall leading to the station. The station was closed to passengers in 1958.

Is this the end of the story ...or the beginning of a legend?
