does anyone know of a good site for information on Ellen Heaton/She died in 1894 and was the former owner of 6 Woodhouse Square which she willed to the corporatio and which now forms part of the Swarthmore Centre.her ghost was spotted there a while ago.She ws a ioneer femimist and knocked about with Ruskin and Christina Rossetti but somem entions of her mention that although she knew the brownings as well she became a bit of a stalker to them!as I might be meeting her ghost having organised a charity ghost vigil for the Swarthmore, I thought I should be prepared<LOL>.

Hi Steve,I'm sure there was an article by Eveleigh Bradford about Ellen Heaton and her life in the house which is now the Swarthmore Centre, in an edition of North Leeds Life magazine last year (part of the "They Lived in Leeds" series of regular articles in this free magazine). I've had a look at the archives on their website and they only go back to November 2013 and the article is not in any of the magazines shown. It's probably worth your contacting North Leeds Life and asking if they can send you a copy of the article:http://www.northleedslifegroup.com/contact/
