This is a link to a photo dated July 3 1936 in the Leodis website:- http://www.leodis.net/display.aspx?reso ... AY=FULLThe photo shows buildings at the junction of Vicar Lane and The Headrow and most of them are still very recognisable today, with a major exception. The premises immediately at the junction are not there now, having been demolished at some stage as the site is now a Barclays Bank. I have wondered when that bank was built, so it cannot have been before July 3 1936.I like the 'My Goodness My Guinness' advert.

Great photos Leo.I love those old signs, I'm building up quite a collection of them myself. You can get nearly all those old ones on Amazonhttp://www.amazon.co.uk/s?ie=UTF8&field-keywor ... type=ssThe only one I can't find is a Tetley's Bitter one, perhaps some local old signs might be a good venture for Duncan in his Secret Leeds Curiosity shop?
My flickr pictures are herehttp://www.flickr.com/photos/phill_dvsn/Because lunacy was the influence for an album. It goes without saying that an album about lunacy will breed a lunatics obsessions with an album - The Dark side of the moon!

Love those old signs Phill. I wonder what happened if 76 or more tried to enter the air raid shelter! I particularly like the 'Beasley's Crate Beers As Bright As The Sun' and the 'Comet Ale In Bottle Pure Brilliant Reviving'.
