Came across this website and this photo of the Station Hotel on Wyther Lane:http://www.closedpubs.co.uk/yorkshire/l ... el.htmlBut where on wyther lane? from the angle and slope of the road I'd say just next to the canal bridge, the road heading towards the brewery, so the canal is at the back of the pub?

Hmm - not too sure about that Cardi If it was the road heading towards the brewery the canal would be on the opposite side of the road and was the road to the brewery a continuation of Wyther lane, as the text says its on Wyther lane ?If it is on Wyther lane ( and I have no reason to doubt it ) then its back is facing the Kirkstall vally and Headingley in the distance otherwise the background would have land rising steeply behind it, my first thought was the same location as your second link but across the road - the area that is now a little car park along side the canal just off the junction - but again, the background doesn't support this.It certainly looks like a traffic light and a bridge parapit in the background to the right of the building but I'm puzzled with that one I'm afraid

Thanks, got it now. It was on the corner where the red fence now starts and this terrace carries on along the side where the electrical contractors now is:http://www.leodis.net/display.aspx?reso ... PLAY=FULLI think the first photo you posted is incorrectly labelled and the pub is in the distance on the left, the big building on the right being hollybush farm.

http://www.leodis.net/display.aspx?reso ... Y=FULLThis picture is the other side of the road with Broad Lane going off to the right. The road sign is the same as the one spotted by BIg N with the edge of the pub just on the left. All of it's been cleared now except for two gate posts which must have been behind the house in the foreground. Thanks for your help.

Very interesting and this leads to the question when did Wyther lane become named so as it appears to be named Bridge fold on the map.Interesting to see how much room there actually is between Wyther lane and the Leeds Liverpool canal but there is more room than I always thought, including enough room for a terrace of houses running off Wyther lane at right angles.

No - you're getting confused here. The 'PH' showed in green is the Bridge Inn. The Station Hotel is marked in Red.
