Free Hug?

On my commute to work this morning, just over the road from Bridgewater Place - Just on the corner by the bridge that goes over the Aire, there was a guy stood with a piece of cardboard daubed with a permanent pen - "FREE HUGS!". Anybody else see him or get a free hug? lol He wasn't begging for money or anything and was dressed casually and well groomed etc. This must have been about 8.00am this morning.

Awww that's nice if a genuine motive. I saw a news item today about someone giving free money away and getting very few (if any) repsonses.

Even better! Guessing he isn't in Leeds? Yes I gave him a hug and he told me to have a great day. Didn't see anybody else doing it so thought "what the heck".

It seems to be a global initiative. I'm all for it, but not sure that I'd accept a hug from a stranger due to being a grumpy goit.

The "Peace be with you" part of the Sunday Eve Service at St Georges on Great George Street was good way back in the day before internal refit 40= yrs ago?In those days the Crypt's main customers were older male bearded tramps (as they were called). Many ex forces good men. Some with a whiff of drink or the hum of p**. All God's creatures and there but for the grace etc.Anyway, to regulars we were all regulars but occassional twee visitors visited and their faces were worth seeing as they shook hands.Go on, make a donation - it's all spent well.

LOL. . . That made me smile. Funny enough walking over Clarendon Bridge on a night sometimes I am frightened.Once TWO blind drunk homeless persons draped themselves over me and another time a drunk woman clung on to me while another drunk woman was trying to glass her with a broken bottle.I had blood all over me . . .no one did anything cos they possibly thought we were three drunk women.So definately no hugs whatsoever for me.
