I was recently talking to a female now in her 70's who lived in Upper Batley as a child. She were evaquated from London during the blitz. The house she was living in was very grand looking and as she can remember it was named Farrs Close. The family living there were named Smith (not unusual I know), and she became very friendly with a younger child named Lyndsey. Her two sisters and a brother were also there, although they were not housed together. The Fox family of Foxs biscuits also lived nearby, this was where her sister lived. If anyone can shed any light on this it would be very much appreciated. She never forgot the hospitality shown to her there in what must have been a hard time for all. Many Thanks -x-

Also a conservative M.P. named Hurst lived next door it would be 1942-43. Not sure if he was an M.P for Batley. This may jog a memory somewhere
