It's all over the news about the Florence blowing up - I'm sat here at my desk in London with the radio on and thought I was hearing things on the BBC news! I had to have a look on the website to make sure! It was a gas explosion by all accounts. Well, that's definitely a lost pub to add to the list!

Some details here http://news.bbc.co.uk/1/hi/england/west ... 858.stmnot funny....but this made me smile .. Quote: Eyewitness reports said a number of walking wounded had made their own way to the hospital across the road from the pub.

My wife was parked straight opposite in the Hospital! Stuck there for hours but safety first. She tells me most of the roof has gone but the front wall is standing, seemingly not much left of the rear and a smell of gas remaining for some time afterwards.Only minor injuries seemingly joined them in A&E, some nearby cars damged - but really could have been a lot worse.

Whoops! Just seen it on Look North! It's been a right blast has that! Rubble everywhere. Lucky there were no more casualties and for that we should be thankful eh?
