Eco Town

The planned Eco town planned for Leeds is currently being considered for on Greenfield areas of the region which will be contrary to all other Eco Towns shortlisted across the UK. Can anyone think of previously used land for mining, old airports, quarries etc that could provide alternative options for sites? The area has to be fairly substantial to cater for what is effectively a new town.CheersPhil
