There are two very old Chemists signs, by coincidence they are both on Harehills Lane. I don't think they've been mentioned before on here, but there worth adding to the list. The first one can be seen here http://snipurl.com/n_cA big painted add for the Post office also hides away behind the Billboard advertising Virgin. That's worth keeping an eye on if it ever comes down. That Chemist sign dates back to the 1950's at least. The next one is a little further up outside Sellers Chemist herehttp://snipurl.com/n.oThe sign on the shop is itself old 1960's era.
My flickr pictures are herehttp://www.flickr.com/photos/phill_dvsn/Because lunacy was the influence for an album. It goes without saying that an album about lunacy will breed a lunatics obsessions with an album - The Dark side of the moon!

Spotted this today - it's a long while since they operated from this location.

Won't be long before the present incumbent's logo falls apart either, the whole place gives an air of disrepair - nowadays it is largely unmanned I believe, simply housing the hardware of the operation?

Even the clock has been disconnected...

there are 10 types of people in the world. Those that understand ternary, those that don't and those that think this a joke about the binary system.

I noticed just today that there is an old sign on the former W.B.Moss & Sons (now Fulton's) building in Otley (see Otley Market Place thread.) I don't know why I haven't spotted it before. It's on the side facing Weegmann's, near the hairdresser's end. It's painted over, but because it's a mosaic, it can be made out (with some difficulty.)It appears to read, "DEALERS IN..." The rest of it is covered by two wooden boards, but some of it can be made out between. It might say "GROCERIES," and there are more words below.I'll try and get a photo this week.
