What about the Yorkshire Copper Works later to become I.M.I. I started there as a apprentice in 1965 and left in 1982.What memories been sent to the stores for a "LONG WAIT" and "A BUBBLE FOR A SPRIT LEVEL".At that time there were over 6000 people working there(or just turning up).Departmental cricket matches turning into fights.Finishing work Saturday lunch(part of the week in the early days) down to the King Charles in Leeds for a pint or 8.The best nights working over then straight to the Cherry Tree in Mabgate. If you had to write a book about what went on at Y.C.W. and especially the"Cherry Tree"nobody would believe it

The joiner took off his cap and sent him to the store cabin for a cap full of nail holes. He obliged, using a 6" nail and hammer, he filled th chaps cap with, nail holes and took it back to be rewaded of course, with a thick ear! (I'm assured his name wasn't Phill btw).See you joined around half past two yesterday uncle michael - that might just make you our 1,000th user! Maybe Munki or dsco could confirm - if you don't mind of course.

If you get to the brewery in Southwold though, they make a cracking Adnams Christmas Pud!(think wiggy has some thoughts on Adnams too!)
