Leeds lost pubs

I got it wrong re The Horse and Jockey - The Victoria became 'Trotters' didn't it.The Bridgefield was a derelict shell when I used to drive past it every day on the way to work two years ago. It must be in an even worse state now considering it's still there!

Lord Cardigan in Bramley is closed again - 'full metal jacket' too - not just plywood as at the 'Wheatsheaf'

Anybody know what's happening at The Cardigan Arms, Kirkstall Road? It's surrounded by scaffolding, but appears to be still open.

The Kings Arms across the road was also knocked down but replaced by the New Kings Arms I believe...

There were some right characters went in there; I recall the Westons, Fred Cooke, Mad Paul in the White Suit, Lainey, John Greenwood, The Quiet Man, Sean McGlimpsey, some doylum of a rugby player called Milner, 1-2-1, Jeff the Midget, Drunken Charlie, Phil the plumber (and goalkeeper), Royston, Gas Meter, the Roebuck brothers, Lorna, Dublin John the Long-Haired Dwarf, Jimmy Saville's nephew, Big Martin with the Special Cue etc. Apart from that they were loons.

I'd also like to day that this is a great thread on a great site. And furthermore that I am glad the Chained Bull has gone. I could never stand either the bouncers or the clientele there. North Leeds has always been the worst part of Leeds for pubs.
