Does anyone out there know anything about a pub called The Royal? I'm told it was in lower briggate somewhere near The Hogs Head & my dad used to drink there (about 40 years ago) but when he looked for it recently he couldn't find the place (must've been cracking beer!).

there are 10 types of people in the world. Those that understand ternary, those that don't and those that think this a joke about the binary system.

Here's another question that may have been answered already, does anyone remember any of the pubs situated at the junction of Beckett street & Lincoln Green road? I'm told there were 3 (maybe 4) & that one of them may have been called The Peel.

Another one bites the dust. Noticed the Florence Nightingale on Beckett Street has closed down and is all boarded up.

I heard that the landlord did a runner with the takings just before Xmas and the pub company are now on the lookout for new management.

Noticed the New Inn (bottom ole) on churwell hill is up for let. Also, what about the Sphinx at Cottingley - I know it went to I think the cottingley arms but is it still there ??

Didn't the Victoria become 'The Horse and Jockey' before someone was shot in there and it closed down?My parents met in the Cross Green (no longer there) and had their wedding reception in The Bridgefield (also no longer there). They will be celebrating their 44th wedding anniversary this year.

Bridgefield is still there, it's just shut down and falling into disrepair. The East Leeds rugby club almost took it on shortly after it originally closed due to some kind of fall out with the place that currently houses them, but for one reason or another, that never happened.
