Tyke Bhoy will love this element of one proposal:'The loop road running alongside the station on its north edge, in between the station and the river, would provide taxi queuing, leading to the taxi pick-up points on the station forecourt.'

Not that it will happen. The last suggestion goes well with me,New Lane Station is pretty lame if you ask me

Given the proximity to Bridgewater Place, perhaps they could call it 'Leeds Windy Corner Station'?I agree that "New Lane" is as lame as it gets and a better name would be needed if ever it were to be built.Whatever they call it though, they will need to make sure the roof is very well fixed in place.I'm still wading through the pdf (there is a lot to take in), but the idea of closing / limiting traffic up Neville Street are concerning. The current road signs try to direct through traffic from the motorways down Water Lane already, which is hopelessly inadequate to cope as it is.

When I Googled New Lane I got this place in Miggy: http://goo.gl/maps/tPY7NIt did seem rather a trek from City station but maybe they could get one of these for the walkway: http://news.bbc.co.uk/1/hi/world/europe/3001182.stm . Get a few in series and they could replace some of the bus routes.
