Remains of the station & platform where still evident in 2004... This fella captured it before they demolished it ready for the new road works http://www.flickr.com/photos/51551857@N00/223247874/ You'll have to paste the address inh as it wont link properly.

Map of the original Leeds station in Hunslet in 1851. This later became just a goods station, and is now crown point. I have an oblique aerial picture of the site from the 80's somewhere which I may post. There were lots of little industrial lines around Hunslet - some disappeared quite early on and there is limited map evidence for their existance.

Slightly better map from 1893 (reduced in size a bit - the original is a lot clearer). The turntable to the SE of the depot accessed sidings serving the engine works on the site which is now CostCo.

Sorry - wrong picture above - that's the station you mentioned. 1893 map is this one.

Phill the shot you posted of that now demolished bridge looks to be the one on Moor rd/Hillidge rd if so there was a signal box there till at least the 70's. It was used as a joinery business by a guy called dave peacock (he also had a newsagents in Beeston) no pics though sorry. For some interesting pics of the rail and coal industry in middleton try this link http://www.leodis.net/searchResults.asp ... RRPAGE=1or this for a bit about hunslet stationhttp://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Leeds_Hunslet_Lane_station

I got a cracking shot of the Central viaduct yesterday... Enjoy it while you can before some monstrous new appartments hide it away. What puzzles me about this bridge is how clean the big pad stones are either side of the river. There acutally track refuges. Quite big inside, There the original thing...but why they look so new compared to the other stonework is a mystery?

Good shot of the viaduct Phill, I was looking at it myself on Friday night after I dropped my sis off in town. It's an impressive structure, I didn't realise it was quite so long until they knocked the Monk Bridge site down.
