Missed all these updates somehow!Oh yes, the figures do appear on the artist's impression. It's a PDF file so I don't know how to link it sorry. I found it through a Google search, Leeds City Council plandocs Dec 10. So now I want to know if they are using the original figures, and if so, where have they been? And what else is in there?

Regarding figures at the Majestic, the Yorkshire Evening Post (YEP) of today (Sept 19 2012) has a report (with images) on page 16 in which it states "Two imposing figures have been anchored in place to cast their gaze over Leeds's City Square for many years to come. The Greek statues, known as Music and Poetry, have been installed as the final piece in the restoration jigsaw of the grade II-listed former Majestic cinema and nightclub...The imposing statues replace original stone works of art that were removed several years ago...".If there is an online version of the report in the YEP website I have been unable to find it.

My searching skillls are clearly less than useless! Edit added moments after posting. I've just noticed that the online YEP report was added today at 15:31, which was after my original post so I think that is a good excuse!

As mentioned many of the films were shown for weeks and they were the big hitters of the decade like, Gigi, South Pacific, Sound of Music and one my Dad went to many times which was the King and I.He loved it and took all of the family eventually one by one laugh.Even went one afternoon and then the evening on the same day. I also went to the Majestic in 1964 as they had live groups downstairs and I saw the Hollies, the Fortunes, Stu Janes and the Mojos and other smaller groups who had a hit in 1964.It was very intimate down there and easy to get their autographs which I still have nearly 50 years later. I also saw SOM but loved El Cid which made me cry at the end when he gets killed and they prop him up on his horse lol. I missed the Nymphs and always wondered where they went.Is the Black Prince back, as I havent lived in Leeds for nearly 30 years now so its changed alot since I used to live there. You could even take your own jug to the pub and get it filled with beer when I was younger. Not a drinker then but it would be good now lol.
On Ilkla Moor ba'tat!!!
