Being a kid way before the "no smacking" rule was introduced I regularly found myself in bother, and often got a "twilt round the lughole" and occasionally a right clattering(usually well deserved I might add)There are loads of other ways to describe a good walloping, what do others remember being threatened with as kids?

My mum used to lay into me mercilessly. She used to threaten with my dad and what he'd do to me when he got home. To be honest I can't remember my dad every laying a finger on me.

My Grandma always uses a phrase similar to one 'Arry used in another thread, She always says Blummin ummers! She's a Leeds lass and i was wondering if this is just a local saying or if it spreads further afield!
