It's staggering that it is already so long back. This came to my attention in the 'On this day' feature in the Yorkshire Evening Post. I remember it well - we were in Whitby in Spring Bank Holiday week and I read it in the paper (presumably on the Tuesday). Such a shock at the time, although he had suffered a bad heart attack several years previously. I still watch Morecambe and Wise on Youtube and the occasional compilation programmes on TV, and they still make me laugh out loud! Hi Tasa. We both therefore have a reason to remember something while in Whitby. Your mention reminded me that when the New York Trade Center was attacked on September 11 2001 I was in Whitby that day. I had noticed there seemed to be a number of police around (coincidence or not I don't know) and when I got home I turned on the television and saw scenes at the Trade Center but I was still unaware of what had happened and for some while I thought it was an action film. It took me quite some time to realise that it was a real event. Apologies for that having nothing directly to do with the thread. If a mod decides to remove this post I will have no objection.
