Yes it was a bit sad looking through the place. Before our eyes was a 100 years of history in ruin. Book and paper work kept in meticulous order over the years strewn about rotting on the floor. I guess the bosses would have got there big pay out. The working guys would have got a letter in there last pay packet. Sorry guys. You aint got a job no more. Were going under! Thanks for all your efforts over the years by the way, Much appreciated.

These are proposals for the site of YCL on Black Bull Street,on both sides. The top right drawings are the Clarence Dock builings already in place,so this view is looking towards the direction of Crown Point Bridge.Braimes is now closed, but they have or are relocating. We have to accept that times move on,and if there is scope for redevelopment of these sites (both YCLs have been empty for some time) then as long as its worthwhile then we should welcome the redevelopment.I only have to think back to the crappy emptiness of a derelict south side of Boar Lane in the 70s and 8os that was a blot on the landscape that was.

What's those? Don't say student pads? I always think that area of the city is empty and soulless.

Sad to see that Braimes is up for sale - one of my favourite buildings in Leeds is that. Hope that it doesn't get flattened to make way for more multi-coloured boxes.....

I think the Braime's building is listed so it has some protection

That's good news, hope they don't find a way round it
