Not quite a Heritage day thing but it is a relative subject.Evening post tonight saying that the Olympics are closing in October and that there is an open day with aguided tour,on 23rd of September to mark its 40th anniversary.Love it or loathe it is certainly a building that has provoked many a conversation and perhaps could do with a visit by Munki or Phil_d and his box browny.Once its gone its gone.

Nice one csnosi. i'm glad there's an open day. It seems someone has finally got the idea people would like to capture these places! I was thinking off asking them myself for a visit but i'm glad i don't need to now! Once the big hammer starts the interior pics will suddenly gain more interest! Cheers mate!

Well, it's that time of the year again...http://www.yorkshireeveningpost.co.uk/n ... 825861List of participating Leeds venues: http://www.heritageopendays.org.uk/dire ... eedsWhilst a lot are taking place over the coming weekend, there seems to be a disappointingly increasing number of events being held on Thursday / Friday when people are likely to be at work...

Quite so Davey, all of the ones of most interest to me could not be managed. Perhaps folk don't want to give up their weekends or, where staff have to be pain, maybe weekdays avoid extra cost!

My problem is that I'm 68 miles north of Inverness on the day before the walk! Hi Dalehelms Now that does sound like a problem.Have a nice time up in Scotland.
