How well do you know Leeds?

Ps I thought Phill was trying to catch flying fish.He He.     Tilly if you can see Skelton Grange power station you must have a time machine it was demolished in the early 90sThink you mean EggboroughThe only disused one you can still see is Thorpe Marsh at Doncaster     When you get to my age you seen all sorts of things no one else sees but yes you are right it is Eggborough.

You can sometimes see the sun also, which is even further, but neither are in the North. You can see the Pole star , thats about 430 light years away apparently. Can't get much more northern than that!
there are 10 types of people in the world. Those that understand ternary, those that don't and those that think this a joke about the binary system.

Having my feet on the ground and not in space lolI used to live with my sister in Burnsall Croft which is in Armleyand near to the Feast GroundOn a Clear Day you could see forever Oh sorry thats the songWe could see down the River Valley all of the PowerStations along the River Aire down to the Power Stationat Selby which I think is a good view. That was without binoculars.Selby is 30 miles away from Armley, but we could see beyondthat but of course dont know where it is. When I lived in Burnsall Court, Armley you could see Yeadon, Otley and beyond but with no precise objects to register I dont knowhow far further that was.

I'm not sure of the direction but there's a hill up Wortley that overlooks Armley in the direction of the sports centre and beyond, the view is quite fantastic.
Young 'uns that have no interest in the history of the place they grew up in....disgraceful.

Cabbage Hill, great views East and over the city but not much further than Roundhay and Horsforth.

I would have thought the roof on the Cottingley Heights flats would give a good view north but i have never been up there.

I tried to get a good view over Leeds and tried Belle isle, Beeston Hilland woodhouse, but there's so much in the way. However near Limewood approach there's a road that curves around the hillside between north Parkway and the Ramsheads and there's a good view into Leeds.A very tall tower block as mentioned above and in a previous thread of mine stands tall somewhere behind the Merrion Centre. It's rooftop must be the highest place in the centre of Leeds by far. It's marked out by a irregular shape in which a green swuare tower is integrated into the design.anyone know what that building is and the exact location. Anyone got access or looked out from it??
