FlojoJust thought, I wonder if those corned beef breadcakeswith pickle you called Pullys could have been 'Bullys'?That has always been the slang name for corned beef!i.e 'Bully Beef'

try living down 'ere mate...with thier rolls and stuff.when i first got here,i went to the chippy for a chip butty....he looked at me daft,then i explained it was chips in a breadcake and got the reply(with carrot cruncher accent)...'oh! we don't do anythan like thaaart!'

I thought the oven bottom breadcakes were called new cakes in South Leeds (Hunslet in particular)?
