my dad lived with his grandparents,just round the back of the cemetary tavern on barrister place..his gran would often send him with u jug to it filled with bitter.he was only between 5 and 12...how times have changed,i think my gran would of got life if she had sent him in todays p.c world.
i do believe,induced by potent circumstances,that thou art' mine enemy?

hi everyone had to have my say obout the pub blast,i used to live in roxby close, which wasn't far from the florence,just over beckett st, i remember it being the cemetery tavern,my mum used to be a early morning cleaner in the 6o's i'm pleased that no one lost there life in the blast, it was a friendly meeting place in it's day

Once the street on the North Side of the pub was called Recorder Street - it was all demolished many years ago but the sign remained on the pub wall - here it is..
