Leeds lost pubs

It's been closed for a while but I see that the metal shutters have gone up at the Old Golden Fleece on Churwell Hill. Not much sign of life at the New Inn at Whingate, not for the first time.

the starlight bar attached to the old shaftesbury cinema as now closed after being there since the 50s............. the cavalier as opened again with remember this disco back there after a three years at other venues, playing on wed nights for the more mature people with rock n roll...... the skinners on scott hall back open.

More Yeadon news: Mike and Lisa at the Tarn have taken on the New Inn in Baildon. It's another Enterprise Inn and they have let them have it for a pound a week. The Rag and Louse apparently has a tenant but he's taking a while to get started, and the Tut still looks as dead as ever. Enterprise are apparently still being rigid in their policies, which is making things difficult for a lot of their tenanted pubs and therefore causing tenants to leave. The Unit on the High Street has also closed since Christmas. On the other hand, the good pubs are still doing well.

Some good news on the Malvern in Beeston.Its STILL shut!!!!Shame about the Junction on Dewsbury Road,used to be my local.Every time i drove past i thought of the Melbourne windows and Drapesy.Is there actually anywhere in Leeds where pubs are prospering?If so what have these areas in common,or what are these respective pubs doing to keep the trade going?
