You're right Leodian, the Yorkshire Evening News was in production from 1905 to 1963. Does anyone remember the Tom Thumb club that was sponsored by the paper.http://www.flickr.com/photos/23885771@N03/3472523025/

The final edition of the YEN was on this very day, December 3rd. 1963.

The old Warrington and Burton Ales sign has also been revealed on the Albion pub. I hope they retain it with whatever development it is going to be.

I've probably visited this pub more than any other over the years. It was our works lunchtime local (in the days when a pub lunch was the norm!)
