Come to think of it, apart from the mad house been a little 'lively' there was nothing really much of a terrible eyesore about the place. What was the thinking behind closing all those businesses and doing absolutely nothing with that land for donkeys years? I can only recall a chippy been on that row of shops. What else was there? didn't the original millgarth police station occupy some of the site?

You can plainly see it if walk behind the existing police station, the old one is now the car park for the private cars of the staff.

As you say I can remember the pub on the corner, then a selection of shops almost all the way down to the police station. There were two or three different cafes and you are right about a chip shop being there. Then (seemingly) they were all gone!I can only remember the ground behind it being used for car parking though, although if you looked you could see the remains of brick walls, etc on the ground, as though buildings had just been demolished down to ground level and the car park opened.

Yes you can still see the remains of the old police station walls near the new Millgarth as Si says. I seem to recall a record shop been in that row of shops. The ex jukebox ones with those great click out middle pieces to play them with

Hello, I was talking some exterior shots of the leeds international pool today. There was water running from some of the black rectangular things coming from the wall. It must have only just started because there were cars parked under them.Does anyone know what this is? Leak? Some kind of condensation unit?Ive taken a short video of it herehttp://www.youtube.com/watch?v=cVrrC7jE1Rk

It was the water draining from the top of the covered corridors D2G. (By the way - I was watching you, you're never far a way from a secret leedser.....)

LOL i figured someone was probably around - I saw some other photographers around leeds myself, least it wasn't a guard like in the corn exchange. Did you see me marching my m8 around then he was as interested as a lion in a veg patch!! I had fun though, don't get to leeds center much. I wanted to take some of the dental hospital as I just like the architecture but i didn't want some security guy running after me You'll be wanting to see my work then http://www.flickr.com/photos/22368555@N04/
