I used to work there a few years ago. My wife was born there - I wonder how many secret Leeder's were? I was, in Dec 1974. Is it still open?On the original topic, someone mentioned the cricket ground. I got my one and only diamond duck there, opened the batting, at the non-strikers end first ball, other lad hits it to midwicket, calls for a single, changes his mind, cheers, gone without facing. Long walk back!!

On hearing this,I promptly burst intotears! One stream went straight down me face and theother into Mum's fruit bowl!Aaaaaah!Hey! Carrotol Wonder if we were born in the same Bed?Sorry I can't remember when St M's ceased to be maternity.Sometime in the 80's? I think it was scheduled to be anannexe for High Royd's but became a Geriatric unitfairly recently. (the family have booked me inalready!)

I used to work there a few years ago. My wife was born there - I wonder how many secret Leeder's were? Me too! Apparently there was a bit of a panic on - my parents lived in the (then very modern and nearly new) flats off Stoney Rock, so Jimmys was literally just round the corner, but they were full so we were initially despatched to the LGI, but they were full too, so we ended up at St Marys. I very nearly ended up arriving in the back of the ambulance before we got there!Fortunately for me, I was soon returned to East Leeds and I don't seem to have suffered any long term emotional damage from being born on the wrong side of Leeds....
