What about the golden Cross cafe on North Street. Heard alot about it but never been there. Also harry Joes on sheepscar Street South. - Good sarnies in there!

Or should I say about the Golden Cross, never went there seeing as it is long gone!!!!Thought I would mention the Skandia Cafe in the Merrion Centre, not to be confused withthe Scanda restaurant on merrion Street. Used to go in there when I was younger every Saturday. Great milkshakes. I wonder whatever happened to Costos who ran it...

What about 'FRY-UPS' on Bishopgate street? Proper 'greasy' spoon getting a bit expensive now tho'

However, I heard it was the same family that run both and if true they have a stake (no pun intended) in that greek olive shop in Leeds market!

thanks for the picture brandy,that confirms that it was where i thought it was. it used to do good grub at reasonable prices. i hope someone takes over the site again as a cafe instead of leaving it empty as at present.

May I give a big clap to the Helenick on Vicar Lane. Place never seems to shut and has been the savior to many a drunken night out in Leeds On a Sunday morning!!

I asked on another thread how long the hellenic has been there. i remember it as long as I have been coming to Leeds which is around 35 years.mind you some of the customers look as though they have been in there that long as well<G>.
