Hello,I went to the channel four transmission recording. It was supposed to be at Temple Mill, so I was excited as I really want to see inside. At the last minute it was changed to the old Kays warehouse near the Commercial pub, so that was a disappointment.

Was the Channel 4 gig "Faithless"? If it was, I won tickets to that but couldn't go in the end.

yes thats right its designed on edfu..temple of horus there..have been there..surrounded by sand unlike holbeck..the owner went to egypt and was inspired by the architecture and built temple mills to the design...and yes sheep grazed on the roof..may be repeating what others have said..sorry..its a really fascinating building particulary for a buff of ancient egypt like me...cheers

The smaller (temple) building was open one weekend when the developers had a display up to show the proposed plans. I managed to get down on one of the days thinking it would be packed out. To my surprise I think I was about the only person to visit the whole weekend. The guy from the company was just sat reading a book!Inside is just modern offices, in this bit anyhow. The larger building was full of Dexion racking, but I couldn't persuade him to open it up!The larger building has some serious structural problems due to the grass roof having been removed. I can't really remember but the grass was there to keep the humidity high I think, better for weaving or something like that. Once the grass was removed the change in humidity has caused all sorts of problems. The pic is a different view of the Temple Mill to show the fabulous roof lights. It looks like a fleet of flying saucers. Taken early one morning from the disused Viaduct Line.
