Having another trawl around the net it seems that Tate’s – if it was Tate’s, were not the first Ford outfit to have a robot [although they may have been the first in the UK].In 1962 Ford in the US came up with this “Monster” made entirely from current parts and asked the public to put a name to it. Not so much a robot, more a sculpture. Then in 1967 came Freddie Ford.Built for the 1967Texas State Fair again using parts from the assembly line. It seems that Freddie was only the first. This is a 1978 photo of the Freddie Ford brothers I ,II and III. They’re different from the original.Of course, none of this helps with the Leeds mystery.

Yet more photos of Cygan including one in a car showroom. It seems as though it had a few modifications / alterations during its travels.Originally it had a solid shoulder / neck cape or shroud – now missing but it had been replaced by a soft or cloth version – shown in the car showroom. The green mouthpiece has also gone. The chest panel and [possible] speaker below it have also gone. The speaker being replaced by a domestic ceiling spotlight. The Christies website states that the robot is non-functioning and that all electronics have been removed so, looking at ashot of the robot's innards, it is possible to see how it has room for the spotlight.Showing Mr Moto in a car showroom. Does this make the location any more identifiable?

I'm sure I'd remember an He 111 parked up by the York Road or where-ever.

he does look like he's a bit worried, filled his keks and it's leaking out over his shoes.

Unless maybe it was in preparation for Hitler having his HQ at Quarry Hill? It's most likely Hendon Air Museum, as they have an He 111. However, on Googling it, Hendon's plane has partial markings reading 5J, not 6J.
