Plenty of whats and wheres but not many roughly whens.I'll have a go at roughly 1920 or 1921.Roughly.

Indeed, this small section in red is all about what's left of where the Swinegate goit ran. I was always under the impression the new concrete section that covers this area today would have been built when the station was remodeled in the 60's. It appears it was done with the building of the Queens Hotel foundations looking at this photo.Down those steps and turn around.And this is the view you get.You can see where the underground section finished, the foundations of the Queens Hotel clearly visible. I would never have got that i thought it was Water Lane area.Just goes to show if you dont see an image in its full context you can be a long way out with your idea of were it was taken.

That was a good 'What & Where' Jogon. I was wrong as I thought it was the Central Station, despite some buildings giving me some doubt.

Recognised it straight away, though my post may have been too cryptic. The prominent white gable end to the right of the view is the end wall of the Outdoor Machinery Engineers property from where I served my apprenticeship in the 1950s. That wing contained (from the basement up) the joiners, the tractor shop, the mess room, and the painters.

What building threw the shadow that points to the Back Prince it cant be Mill Hill it looks too far right and too big but it does look like a church or am i wrong?
