This is Castle Carr in Halifax where the fountain came from. I came across this whilst doing some research on something nearby. The place looks amazing, and it's rarely seen by the public, from what I have read it only opens once every two years to let people see it. The lake, water features and fountains look truly amazing. I love the shot above, if you took some clever photo angles and have a vivid imagination, you can create an amazing set of photos. I think the photo above if taken properly could be made to look like something from Star Wars, It also reminds me a little of something M.C Escher would come up with.

This would have been one of my father in laws haunts as a child. He grew up in Wainstalls on the road that leads down to Castle Carr. A couple of months ago, he mentioned a very old book that he had from his childhood about the Wainstalls area. I'm fairly sure one of the places he talked about the book covering was Castle Carr.

The girl who posted those photos has been telling me it's to open again on the 2nd September this year for a charity event!

I gather from the local rag that it was open for an event last month, but the fountain had a faulty valve. http://www.halifaxcourier.co.uk/news/lo ... 725610With a bit of luck, Yorkshire Water might have it repaired in time for the September event.
