Happy New Year all - although Easter can't be far off, as Tesco has Easter eggs on sale next to the reduced Christmas stuff!

Happy New Year everyone I had to do a double take today as well Croggy - I saw cadburys cream eggs on sale in my local co-op. Easter is late this year too, are they having a laugh?

Full moon is indeed 20 March, according to my new diary, lol.Also, British Summertime starts on 27 March!

I think Easter could only be later with a full moon on Sunday 20th March as the date of Easter is calculated using the lunar calendar and the equinox which is why it fluctuates. The lunar month being approximately 29.5 days.Easter Sunday is the first Sunday after the first full moon after the Equinox (21st March). That makes it almost 5 weeks after the equinox this year.Speaking of the moon, the expression of rarity "once in a blue moon" originates from a calendar month which has two full moons. The second occurrence is the blue moon.
