I've got to say i'm really touched by your kind words guys!I'm glad you enjoyed the story. It's just the kind of thing i love about Leeds, if other people enjoy my stuff too then it's a great added bonus. Shame about the missing flying Scotsman Brandy, but i'm sure i heard a ghostly whistle while up there.Thanks everyone

Thanks, Phill. I thoroughly enjoyed your virtual walk. You excell at these things. That skewed arch is superb - all that effort and work to make an arch covering a structure as simple and practical as a walkway, has created something of real beauty. Book? - TV series, I say!!!

On seeing such excellent recordings as this of Phill's I can't help but wonder what some future Secret Leedser wiill record. Perhaps the final images of what is left of the Seven Arches before Adel Beck is culverted and the area is then filled in to provide a site for a new Super Tesco. Or perhaps the chance find of the long forgotten Mabgate Tunnel. Maybe the then totally covered River Aire and the Leeds & Liverpool Canal in and near the centre of Leeds will provide some interesting secret explorations. Who knows?

The route via the Viaduct was the usual route for expresses off the route from Wakefield Westgate/Geldard Road.This caused probs for trains using the former pfm 5(now by setting up a route through most of the west end of the station.In later life the only function of the viaduct was to stable a single HST set after cleaning/preparation until required for an early morning departure.I think buffer stops were erected on the remaining single line.Due to there not being a safe walking route to the station the crew had to remain on board until departure time.don't know if this is before Cnosni's time.The Cockney lads used to do a lap of honour if they got a clear runpast (L95 ? signal)into pfm 5.- never heard of one being breathless though !!!!!!!!!
