Presume near the pizza shop which someone is asking about on a different thread. ie what the building was... The cinema was just beyond where the pizza shop is - on the same side - and almost opposite where the carpet and bicycle shops are now.    For many years it was a bathroom showroom and has only very recently been demolished - the new flats approaching completion are called "Rialto Court" after the cinema. I found a picture on Leodis of what the cinema used to look like.Rodley Barbers hairdressers was once situated here on the right corner before it moved over the road (to the old Harrison's shop) & on the left hand corner they used to be a sandwich shop.

the co op used to give dividend a bit like tesco points ,when you bought somthing you would give your code number and periodicly you would would get a small percentage back (divi).they would also deliver your weekly groceries using a guy van which had an indian chiefs head on the radiator cap.the co op milk man used a similar van.but our milkman used one of two huge shire horses,"dolly"would follow him round stopping to let him fill his bottle carrier then when he had got afew houses ahead would catch him up. on the rare occasions "blossom"was used it would accompanied by much giddyup and whoaing,as once stopped "blossom"was loathe to start and once going was even more loathe to stop.
