I guess the planes were not part of Yorkshire Airlines immortalised in this hilarious Hale & Pace sketch. I know I've put this link in a SL thread some time back but it's always (well I think so ) worth another look. This is the link:- http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Rm6VC5gdaFA

That said, a splash of paint is easy enough to apply.I certainly looks like the right model.

After noticing the plane I thought was in a waiting loop landing at the airport, I took more of an interest and noticed all planes coming into Leeds did the same thing. It was especially noticeable last night, it was very clear, and the plane warning lights stood out very well. As I went to bed at 1 a.m the airport was still busy, even at that time three planes landed one after another. On looking out of the window I could see three plane lights flashing over Leeds at the same time, they were all going in different directions, and on first glance you would have thought they were going to different places. But I watched everyone of them do the same thing. It seems the flight path into Leeds brings the planes in somewhere around the Gildersome/Morley direction, then they do a turn and head across Leeds, in a direction you would think the planes were actually leaving Leeds. They then do another turn in the Cross Green/Rothwell area and come straight into Leeds in a straight line which brings them roughly over St James hospital, they keep that straight line till they land at the airport. I guess you'd never notice this flight path if you didn't have a good skyline view. The sketch above isn't to scale of course, just a general idea of the flight path into Leeds.

I can only find the last part of the flight path so far. Shame I can't find the one for Leeds yet.

Can I throw this bit of Airline trivia in?The billboards were put up in Leeds in the 70's after all. If it doesn't fit, then admin feel free to delete. I just thought it interesting anyway Retro billboard advert to be seen around Leeds and other cities in the 1970's. Cheaper flights in those days saw a lot of airplane songs hit the charts in the 1970's. ''Airport" by The Motors, Leaving on a Jet Plane , and Captain Tobias Willcock Welcoming you aboard coconut airways flight 372,To Bridgetown, Barbados! This American Airways advert featuring a host of beauties including Jo and Cheryl invited you to hop aboard and fly them. It also inspired Eric Stewart from 10cc to write the hit song 'I'm Mandy. Fly me' *With a smile as bright as sunshine, she called me through the poster, and welcomed me aboard*http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Wv8N6zSzL7kEric Stewart saw a down and out tramp looking wistfully up at the airways advert wishing he was far, far away. Eric thought, man you ain't never going to get on a plane. There is a song in here somewhere!
