Personally I'm glad she's gone .Got fed up of her pouting and posing in front of the camera!

Anyone remember the old bloke who wrote a song about Christa Ackroyd? I can't remember if it was Calender, or Look North. But they featured him on the program.

Yeah! I'm sure he referred to her as Doris Ackroyd in his little ditty for some mad reason though...

I've looked for it online but can't find it. He was a real old bloke wasn't he? Warbling away well smitten with her. The Doris (or similar) thing sounds familiar yes Yeah, he was an old guy, seemed very happy with his little ode to Christa / Doris! Bet his royalties are down now though :-(I've looked too but no sign of it anywhere...

I may be mis-remembering this, but wasn't Ms Ackroyd awarded the name "Doris" by Ken Dodd, who said during an interview that Ackroyd was a good Yorkshire name, but she should change her first name to something more appropriate - like Doris?
