Venus, Jupiter and Mars are very obvious just now.

I had not realised that the sky was so clear. The bright object (Venus) is just visible from where I am so I've just been out to try and get a better view but what will be a thin crescent Moon close to Venus (they are approaching NW) is lower than Venus and was still hidden from my view. Crescent Moons are a lovely sight.

Hi Phill. The still about Full Moon (it was Full yesterday) is still a bit too low in the SE for me to see due to houses blocking my view. There was a close triple conjunction of Venus, Jupiter and Mercury tonight around sunset and I went out into the twilight at 21:45 but they were too low in about the NW to be seen with trees blocking the view. It will have been a great sight. The 3 spread away a bit but stay close (visually speaking!) for some days yet. The Full Moon last night was gorgeous in the clear sky.

Although I've only viewed it on the camera, not full size on the monitor(so it's probably nothing)I'll upload it tomorrow anyway.

Wow Phill you were more successful than me in seeing the 'Super Moon' locally as it was clouded over the few times I looked. I like your Armageddon photo. Right now Venus, Mercury, Jupiter and Mars are 'close' together in the SW to W but sadly it is too light to see them! Weather permitting Venus may be visible being a very bright 'star' low in the west when it is still dusky before it also sinks below the horizon.
