Cheers uncle mick for that interesting link. I thought (hope!) it would be of interest to add this section of the area that I've copied (enlarged a bit) from the 1892 1 to 2500 map in the Old-Maps UK website. The area was very countryside then. I wonder what the lodge with the large grounds was (or still is) in the top right?

This is the area in the 1908 1 to 2500 map in the Old-Maps UK website. It now has some built on areas but the northern extension of North Parade has yet to be done.
