regarding liquid parrafin.I can't resist telling this tale.a friend of mine at a Pagan camp some years back was watching a fire eater perform using parrafin. She was delighted when he let her perform a few tricks.sadly he didn't tell her about the effects of paraffin, and i only found out after that she had swallowed some of the stuff instead of spitting it out like the fire eater.you can imagine her partners and her reaction when the inevitable results happened in their tent in the early hours!

Calomine lotion was a liquid that came in a bottle and 'settled out'. It had to be shaken before application to a rash/spots. However, Fuller's Earth was pink with a strong smell and came in a small round container - not always a tin - sometimes thick cardboard.
Nostalgia isn't what it used to be.
