I ventured into Morrisons in Camden - the home of the damaged and the deranged. It seems they nolonger sell either Tayto crisps or Barmbrack but I did get a bottle of Hammonds Chop Sauce which I've not seen for years. It tasted just like I remembered, and in remembering, I also remembered why I preferred HP.

Is it me or has Leeds gone mad

I managed to find a stall in Leeds Kirkgate market that not only sell barmbrack but also other irish stuff such as galtee foods and Irish biscuits.it is located at the bottom of Row C in the 1976 hall just before you go out into the outdoor market.it is signed discount sweets but they do a whole range of groceries including the irish stuff. The man behind the counter told me they usually get a delivery of irish stuff each week but due to Easter won't get one next week.I am very happy to have tracked down a seller though and at £2.50 ,the cheapest one yet!
Steve JonesI don't know everything, I just like to give that impression!

I have now found that the same stall sells the Irish "YR" sauce which is the original Yorkshire Relish sauce originally made by Goodall & Backhouse in Leeds, and still made to the original recipe in Ireland having been discontinued here but licensed to the Irish firm by Goodall & Backhouse years ago.
