A number of birds around, including small ones that may sadly struggle with the cold and finding food (I often take some food with me for them but forgot to do so today). Nice also to see a pair of Mallards in Nanny Beck near King Lane, as I've not seen them (or others) around there for many months now.

We had snow up at Haworth on Sunday for the 'Stanbury Splash' fell-race300-odd of us devotees/idiots setting off from Penistone Hill to charge over the Moors towards the Stoop stone & backGood fun, but reduced to 6 mile& a completely altered course, due to very severe ice on a narrow ledge on another (usual) part of the course

Good on the man, who I though suspect is not a fireman. This is a link to a related report in the Leeds City website about work on the bridge:- http://www.leeds.gov.uk/News/Pages/Repa ... ridge.aspx
